
Last week I decided to make cupcakes to bring into work to celebrate our November birthday babies. This was a great chocolate frosting. Very quick and easy to make. I baked and frosted 2 dozen cupcakes in no time flat. 🧁

The frosting was a perfect piping consistency. The recipe below makes enough frosting to decorate 24 cupcakes.

Chocolate Buttercream
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cup Butter softened
- 4 ¾ cup Powdered Sugar
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ¼ tsp Salt
- 5-6 Tbsp Milk or heavy cream
- 1 Tbsp Vanilla extract
Instructions
- In stand mixer fitted with paddle or whisk attachment, beat the butter on medium speed for 2 minutes, until creamy.
- Add powdered sugar, cocoa powder, milk or cream, salt, and vanilla extract. Beat on low speed about 30 seconds until combined, and then beat on high speed for 1 minute.
- Frost cupcakes or cake. If not using immediately, cover tightly and store for up to 1 week in the refrigerator or up to 3 months in the freezer.
