Taco Seasoning 2

Cuisine Mexican

Ingredients

  • 1 Tablespoon Chili Powder
  • 2 teaspoons Onion Powder (or Onion Granules)
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder (or Garlic Granules)
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Granulated Sugar (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  • In a small bowl or jar, combine all seasonings together.
  • Store in an airtight container.
  • Use immediately or store for up to 1 year.
  • The full recipe will equal 1 seasoning packet that you would buy at the grocery store.

Notes

  • American-style chili powder is a blend of spices, and the spices used vary by brand.  Use whichever chili powder that you like the taste of best.
  • This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled, and stored in a jar for up to a year (spices will lose flavor potency after about a year, though).
  • I like to use Onion Granules & Garlic Granules rather than Powders of those 2 spices.  It’s just a personal preference; granules are not ground quite as fine as powders.
  • A double batch is in my spice jar in the pictures above.
